About the Speakers
Jeffrey Eaton, MA, is a graduate of the Northwestern Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytic Association. Winner of the 2006 Frances Tustin Memorial Lecture Prize, he has also been the Margaret Jarvie Memorial Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and the Beata Rank Memorial Lecturer at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society. He has published several chapters in edited collections and is the author of ‘’A Fruitful Harvest: Essays after Bion’’ (2011). He is in private practice in Seattle providing psychoanalysis and psychotherapy to children and adults as well as consulting and teaching internationally. He is a consultant to Gunawirra.
Helen Garner started out in 1977 as a novelist and since then has published ten books of fiction, essays, and long-form nonfiction. Her two non-fiction works about criminal trials are 'Joe Cinque’s Consolation’ and ’This House of Grief’. Her most recent book is 'Everywhere I Look', a collection of essays. In 2016 she won the international Windham-Campbell Award for her body of nonfiction writing.
