From 2013-2016 David Walker was the inaugural BHP Billiton Chair of Australian Studies at Peking University, Beijing. He is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and the Australian Academy of the Humanities.

Janet Chauvel is a psychoanalyst in private practice in Melbourne and is a member of the Australian Psychoanalytical Association and the International Psychoanalytical Association. She also teaches for the Melbourne Institute for Psychoanalysis and supervises clinical work in psychotherapy by other mental health professionals.

Judith Brett is an Emeritus Professor of Politics at La Trobe University. Her 2017 biography of Alfred Deakin won the 2018 National Biography Award.
